If you love nature, there is no doubt that the Timberland Cabin will bring a smile to your face. There are over 25 species of native trees and shrubs on the property, so you’ll want to take a stroll through the woods surrounding the cabin and test your knowledge of the forest. Or maybe you’d rather sit on the benches at the quaint rock fire pit out back and quiz one another on the foliage while you charcoal steaks in the brick grill.
And once you’ve gone inside you haven’t necessarily left the forest at all. The lumber for the cabin was grown, logged, and milled on the owner’s tree farm. When you sleep in the beds made of huge cedar logs you might feel like you’re resting in the treetops, and the floors have almost as many kinds of wood in them as there are trees outside. Much of the pine paneling on the walls was salvaged from dead trees, so you get to see a remarkable example of rejuvenation: taking something old and making it new again.
You are sure to feel a fresh burst of energy as you wind your way up the charming spiral staircase that stands in the middle of the cabin. Its only competition for rustic beauty is the big rock chimney that climbs the living room wall.
The Timberland is a great spot for woodsy relaxation, so come and get in touch with the beautiful complexity of the forest.
