Makin’ Memories, located in Timber Creek Trails, is a beautiful, new 1,600 square foot cabin in a serene setting near Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Situated close to the amenities of town with the pleasures and peace of the country outside the cabin’s doors makes it possible to enjoy the solitude of nature and cap the day with a fine meal in town should you wish.
Built from hand hewed wood and accented with stone the cabin melds with the woods that surround it. Designed with comfort in mind the cabin’s layout lends itself to luxury while the unique furnishings add to its overall design and livability. The rustic feel of the beautifully repurposed furnishings gracefully compliment the simple yet elegant design of this well appointed cabin.
In the living room a large, antique windmill provides an accent for the custom made coffee and end tables which are constructed from aged box car planks that have been lovingly refinished to retain their patina and fitted to hammered steel tubing. An auto-light fireplace warms the room and the new, American made sofa which folds out into a king sized Comfort Sleeper to snuggle up in on those cool winter nights.
In the beautifully designed loft is the front end of a 1948 truck which has been cleverly converted into a fantastic piece of decor with a sound system which will play music from a smart phone or the radio. To complete the loft there is a pool table for guests’ enjoyment, specially made tractor seats and a bench made from an old truck’s tailgate to rest on in between turns on the pool table. The loft is reached by climbing a custom designed spiral staircase with oak treads.
The master bedroom is magnificently complimented by a custom built king size bed, lamp tables and armoire made from old hardware, leather, and antique doors. Salvaged rusty sheets of tin roofing adorn the ceiling and an antique looking barn door adds character to the room. The cabin also features a master bath with a granite counter top and a vanity and linen cabinet that match the bedroom furniture.
The spare bedroom with minnow buckets repurposed as bedside lamps which grace the locally crafted Aspen furniture and king sized bed. A second bathroom with an Aspen vanity and mirror is accessorized with fish decor.
Hot water for the cabin is supplied by an endless hot water heater. The large back deck includes handmade cedar wood rockers for relaxing by the outside fireplace, a hot tub and a dining table for six. In back of the cabin there is a fire pit with two log benches, a shed for outdoor grilling and wood storage. Both a charcoal and a gas grill are provided.
Attention to detail and masterful workmanship in every aspect makes this cabin in the woods unique and ensures that your stay will be a perfect getaway from the daily stress of life and work.
